Boven Trout Lodge is a cosy, fully-equipped self catering lodge in beautiful, quaint surroundings.
The restaurant (8h00 – 22h00) with its licensed bar can seat 24 at six tables. Please order from the a-la-carte menu.
For those preferring not to make use of the lodge’s restaurant, a well equipped and spotless communal kitchen is available for guests. There is also a beautiful thatched lapa and braai (barbeque) facilities.
Guests get to enjoy the spacious TV lounge (with DStv) and a home-style licensed pub, while a good old fashioned fireplace will warm the cockles of anyone’s heart during the cooler evenings here on the escarpment’s edge.
The lodge, which was Waterval Boven’s original historical hotel built in the late 1800s, offers 15 rooms with 35 beds.
Waterval Boven is in the heart of one South Africa’s finest fly fishing areas, with Machadodorp, Belfast, Dullstroom and Lydenburg within easy reach. Six kilometres of river fishing is available 100m from the lodge, not to mention three dams within walking distance.
For those not keen on trout fishing, the lodge boasts a large pool and a spacious garden to relax in.
